Sydney Tackaberry – Arts and Science Instructor
This is Sydney’s second summer with Camp Edmo and she is thrilled to be Alameda’s Art and Science Instructor. Sydney graduated with a BA in Gender Studies and Sociology from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Since moving to the Bay Area, Sydney has had the opportunity to work with kids in both a home and school environment. This past school year has been filled with learning while she worked as an Americorps Volunteer and as an after school program leader for Girls Inc. of Alameda County where she worked with kinder and first grade girls focusing on literacy support. Sydney couldn’t love her work more! Sydney loves fostering the creative spirit in children through both play and structured learning. She is looking forward to having an amazing summer making art and helping the campers understand the natural world through science projects and fun facts. When not at camp, Sydney enjoys camping up and down the California cost, biking, exploring the Bay Area, as well as reading, painting and fun in the sun.
Whoa! I am so excited to be back for a second summer with the Edmo Team! I can’t wait for the summer session in Alameda to begin. It’s a lot of fun getting to know all of the campers and helping them explore their creative side, while growing and learning right along with them!”
Nora Lindquist – Counselor
Nora Lindquist is looking forward to her first year working with Camp Edmo as a counselor and she is very excited to express her ʺcrazinessʺ with campers.
I am stoked to see the creativity within the kids in Alameda. We will make the Edmo vibe the best it has ever been!”

The way I see it is, if public school is free yet lacking in art and science, then I can pay for it during the summer. I feel it fills a crucial void in standard education (as currently funded in CA) even in our very nice school. I just wish all kids could have the same experience.”
I look forward to camp season every year because the developmental improvements that I see from my kids. This is owed completely to the wonderful experiences that they have at Camp. The social developments and the variety of activities and support from staff help my family so much!!”
I went to the family afternoon last Friday. It was a great experience. The songs, games, and animation that was shown to the parents were excellent. If this is a snapshot of the interaction between camp counselor and the children at the camp, Camp Edmo is stellar and excellent…. if I can in the future, my older daughter and her sister, when she is of age, will be attending for as long as they can. All of the camp counselors, instructors, and the director at Alameda whom I have interacted with are fabulous! Thank you!”
I have been extremely pleased with the program. My son has never showed so much excitement. In fact I wish Roosevelt Elementary in San Leandro had an after school program like yours.”
A very good aspect of camp for our family is that one location can accommodate two ages: edmo for my younger one, and edtech for the older one.”
