Lahni’s story Your donation helps us light the spark of curiosity, confidence and kindness for disadvantaged kids. Take Lahni, a 1st grader from Oakland. Three weeks at Camp Edmo on a partial scholarship made her passionate about ant’s anatomy, the engineering of castles, and dissecting owl pellets. She would never have considered biology a career possibility before the wonder she experienced at Camp Edmo. In her grandma’s words, “Camp Edmo nurtures children’s inquisitiveness and creativity, and it’s all done with such wonderful enthusiasm!”
James’ story For James, a 5th grader from the Canal District, after a week at Camp EdTech on full scholarship, he got so enthused about creating media that he “became more interested in school and put effort into studying” when fall rolled around. Instead of watching TV at home, he was making TV at camp.
Meet Olivia, Cash and Dante and their families and hear them tell their story!
Camp Edmo is part of our family unit…I really wish that it was available for everyone.” …Shiloh, Dante’s DadWatch our Edventure More video and see what a difference you can make in your community!

Edventure More believes that ALL children should have access to high quality enrichment programs during the summer. Our Camp Scholarship Program was created to sponsor campers who otherwise would never experience the magic of our award-winning programs. We stand by our commitment to the community by allocating 5% of all summer camp proceeds and 100% of all donations to support camp scholarships, as well as subsidize our innovative School Year Programs.
Partial scholarships are valid for one to three full weeks of Camp Edmo, Edmo In the Park, Camp EdTech, and EdTech in the Park, and if needed, include AM or PM Care at no additional charge. Scholarships are determined based on:
- Financial need
- Available funding
- Available space
We do our best to accommodate location, camp program and scheduling preferences but cannot always guarantee a family’s first choice.
To evaluate and continually improve our Camp Scholarship Program, all scholarship recipients and their families will be required to participate in pre-camp and post-camp surveys. Survey results are confidential and do not affect the selection of scholarship recipients.
Our scholarship application process is now closed for 2013. Scholarship applications for 2014 will be available on this page in early February.
All scholarship applications must include a completed online Teacher Recommendation form to be considered. For a printable version please click here.
Hard copy applications can be faxed to 415.449.6161 or mailed to 2295 Palou Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94124 and are due to Edventure More as soon as possible
Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee and all applicants will be notified no later than May 15, 2013
For more information, email us at develop@edventuremore.org or call us at (415) 282-6673.
Since 2004, we’ve granted over $360,000 in scholarships that have touched the lives of hundreds of families. As little as $35 takes care of a T-shirt and supplies for a day. $100 pays for a day of additional staffing for our camp scholarship recipients. Donate $350 and you give an entire week of Camp Edmo to a child!
Please make a donation today and give a child in your community a chance at a summer full of curiosity, confidence and kindness.
