Robert Atkinson – Camp Director
This will be Robert’s 5th year with Camp Edmo and his 4th year as Director at the Marina camp location. Robert graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree in History in 2005 and immediately began working with special needs children in the classroom. In 2010, Robert completed his coursework at San Francisco State for his multiple-subject teaching credential. 2012 was a huge year for Robert as he fulfilled his dream of having his own classroom, a 4th grade class at Fairmount Elementary. Robert is an avid musician and looks to foster creativity in every child he works with.
I cannot wait to get back into Edmo mode full swing! Directing camp is something that I can look forward to throughout the year and I know that it will be a positive and rewarding experience. I’m looking forward to seeing both new and familiar faces at camp and filling the summer with tons of fun! Who’s got that Edmo Vibe?? Me!!!”
Zia Adsit-Metts – Animation Instructor
Zia Adsit-Metts is excited to be back for her third Edmo summer at Presidio Heights/Marina and her second summer as Animation Instructor! Zia loves helping kids learn a fun, new art form. She has been doing animation for six years and received her BA in animation at San Francisco State University in Spring 2013. Zia loves animating, drawing, making movies and finding out just how creative and brilliant Edmo campers can be.
I can’t wait to make some movie magic and with the awesome animators this summer! I’m looking forward to going bananas with all the fresh faces and Edmo returners!”

You guys rock!! Best camp program in San Francisco!”
… I think the camp is very highly organized. I like the easy drop off and pick up procedures. I also like the “Give Me More” sheets as it gives us info on what they did at camp and what to expect the next day.”
We’ve done the Arts and Sciences camps (usually all themes). My son wanted to try animation and LOVES it. Edmo is the only camp he’s ever asked to attend by name. After the first week of camp this year (this is week 4), he asked if he could go for 6 weeks next year instead of 5!”
I think the camp does a good job in providing children an opportunity to learn to work in groups, which is a skill they need in school and in life.”
