Counselors-in-Training (CIT)
Edventure More fosters the leadership development of all ages. From kindergarten campers, learning to work together, all the way up to our Camp Directors who can hone their administrative and staff management skills.Our fabulous summer time volunteers are no expectation. Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program offers a chance for middle and high school students to explore their passions, receive mentoring from strong role models, gain real world job experience and learn valuable leadership and job skills.
CIT Program Goals

- Customer service, child care, punctuality, team collaboration and constructive feedback
CIT Program Benefits
Once a CIT has completed 6 weeks of volunteer time (This can be over many summers), they are assured a letter of recommendation from Edventure More.
Responsibilities
- Be a kind role model and buddy for the campers
- Ensure the safety of the campers at all times and follow all camp policies, guidelines and procedures
- Instill camp values of respect, team work, honesty, kindness, and generosity at all times
- Be helpful, alert and attentive when aiding in activities or classroom time
- Help Instructors with classroom prep before, after, and during class as needed
- Act as a second set of hands and eyes for Counselors and Instructors
- Assist campers in their classroom creations
- Help Lead Counselors, Instructors and the Camp Director lead morning and afternoon songs, games, skits
- Develop creative activities for your group’s daily Team Time
Qualifications
- Must at least be an entering 7th Grader
- Experience interacting with younger children
- Interest in leadership
- Ability to take initiative and see what needs to be done
- Mature middle school or high school student
- Creative, fun and bright
