Camp Edmo has something for every kid this summer! Pre-K–entering 4th grade kids can try up to four unique Arts & Science or Edmo in the Park themed weeks. Entering 2nd-4th grade kids can also practice unique Animation techniques each week. What kids of all ages build at Camp Edmo is curiosity, confidence and kindness…we call that, “The Edmo Vibe.” Our award-winning programs feature hands-on curriculum designed by Edventure More in partnership with the California Academy of Sciences, Children’s Creativity Museum and the Museum of Children’s Art.

Arts & Science At-a-Glance

Grades: Pre-K-Entering 4th Grade (Currently in last year of Pre-K – 3rd Grade)

Curriculum Partners: Edventure More, the California Academy of Sciences, Museum of Children’s Art

Description: As campers rotate between daily stations of Art, Science, Outdoor Recreation and Team Time, they learn to see the world around them in new ways. Each week’s activities revolve around central theme and feature household materials to get kids thinking creatively, and curious to discover more on their own. Watch them turn your kitchen into a science lab and your garage into an art studio!

Animation At-a-Glance

Grades: Entering 2nd-4th Grade (Currently in 1st-3rd grade)

Curriculum Partners: Edventure More, Children’s Creativity Museum

Description: Campers write scripts, draw storyboards, build characters, design sets, direct and edit scenes to create a short animated film related to our four 2012 weekly themes. Each week focuses on a different stopmotion technique. Kids build cooperative skills through the film-making process and in their Outdoor Recreation and Team Time stations. Our lucky Animation campers use the latest software, Apple MacBook computers and take home a USB drive with their group’s movie.

Edmo in the Park At-a-Glance

 

Grades: Pre-K–Entering 4th (Currently in last year of Pre-K – 3rd Grade)

Locations: Hosted in or near regional parks in San Francisco, East Bay and South Bay. Entering 2nd-4th grade campers go on field trips Tue-Thurs.

Dates: July 16th –August 24th. Dates vary by location.
 
Description: Towards the end of summer, we host Edmo in the Park at or near regional parks. A fresh twist on Camp Edmo, this camp features completely different weekly themes. Each theme revolves around local art, science, history or geography and includes nature hikes and special guest presenters. Kids do everything from strike yoga poses to pet baby sharks. Entering 2nd-4th graders take field trips to local museums, wildlife centers and local organizations.

Give Me More Sheets

These daily take-home sheets describe the day’s activities, provide great resources to foster your camper’s curiosity at home and help make sense of the excited chatter that fills the car ride home.

Healthy Lunch & Snack Option

Take a break from making lunch this summer and add a healthy Revolution Foods lunch to your camp order.  Each meal and snack features fresh, locally grown or organic ingredients whenever possible.

Extended Care (8am-6pm)

Can’t drop off at 9am or pick up at 3pm? No problem. We’ve got you covered from 8am-6pm if you need it. Enroll in 3 or more camp weeks to get 50% Off Extended Care.

Thursday Dress Up Days

It’s not camp if you can’t dress a little weird…at least once a week! Each Thursday has a special dress up theme to get campers into the camp spirit and parents into that box of old Halloween costumes, one more time.

Camp EdTech At-a-Glance

Grades: Entering 5th – 9th grade (Currently in 4th -8th Grade)

Curriculum Partners: Edventure More, Children’s Creativity Museum

Locations: Camp EdTech shares host schools with most Camp Edmo locations.

Dates: June 4 – August 3. Dates vary by location.
 
Description: Our digital media arts camp for entering 5th-9th graders features video gaming, movie-making, animation, digital photography and graphic design sessions. In addition to technology skills, campers build “The EdTech Edge” of creativity, awareness, collaboration and leadership. Campers can choose to do a one-week Studio session to learn fundamental techniques, or a two-week Pro session to complete a larger project that builds on what they learned in the Studio week.

  • 2-D Game Design: Create video games that can be played on your computer or turned into an iPhone app.
  • 3-D Game Design: Create your own first person player game and a three dimensional virtual world.
  • Digital Photography: Learn how to use a digital SLR camera and Photoshop to capture your perspective.
  • Fashion Graphics: Design a clothing brand, identity, logo, and clothing graphics that represent your style.
  • Animation: Use advanced techniques of roto-scoping, green screening and time lapse video to create a short animated movie.
  • Movie Star: Write, act, direct and edit your own live-action short film with friends.
