More What Parents Say About Our Arts & Science Camp

My son loved Camp Edmo and definitely wants to go back next year! He’s clearly learning lots of things in a very fun way. He’s shown us the soda he’s made, talked to us about the different experiments he’s done with cereal and told us about the solar system in a previous week.” – Maria S., 1st Grade Marina Parent

This was my daughter’s first camp…Every staff member was engaged, professional, compassionate, and full of energy. Thank you for setting the bar of what an exceptional summer educational program should look like. You will see my daughter next summer!” – Betsy C., Kindergarten Belmont Parent

My daughter LOVES camp. She loves the staff and the vibe. Every night at dinner, no one else can get a word in edgewise because she needs to teach us every song/chant/game she learned that day. Listening to her, you’d never know that she did art and science, too! But the “camp” feel she’s getting is amazing and exactly what she needs. Thanks for exceeding our expectations!” – Stephanie N., 3rd Grade Cupertino Parent

My son was frantic one evening when we got home to do an experiment with us where we had to choose things from around the house to see if they’d dissolve in water. He wanted to recreate it exactly like you must have done it at camp, something about rolling dice needed to be incorporated. He was so excited and engaged, it was brilliant and so sweet to watch. He also said that he LOVED the Camp Edmo shirt and that it was his favorite camp. This was his very first summer doing camps and we felt like it went GREAT! I see him engaged and excited to learn in a way that I was NOT seeing during his first year in Kindergarten.” – Katie W., 1st Grade Oakland Parent

We are very happy with our experience with Camp Edmo so far. …I used to be a camp director for both Camp Galileo and Destination Science. Taking into account my own experience and extensive research I did for camps, I chose Camp Edmo because I thought it would meet our needs the best. I’m glad to say that I am very happy we decided to go with Camp Edmo.” – Anna G., 1st Grade Sunset Parent

I have never seen my son this happy in a group learning environment. His enthusiasm and enjoyment level is off the chart. I believe this week has given him a new experience of himself and others that he’ll carry forward into other group play and instruction experiences.” – Liana H., 1st Grade Marina Parent
My daughter enjoys creative project team work and the fact that she can do this type of activity around academic subjects at Edmo as well as school is a good way for her to build both social and academic confidence and skills. “ – Mercedes C., 3rd Grade Noe Valley/Twin Peaks Parent
My sons are going to have to work with a variety of people in a variety of ways. I felt Edmo helped them begin exploring many ways of working together and
having fun.” – Samanta Z., 2nd Grade Noe Valley/Twin Peaks Parent
My child really thrives with these life skills – especially creativity and critical thinking. The camp has been a great influence in further developing these skills
while in a fun and collaborative manner. It is a skill he keeps building on and
utilizes not only at school but in most aspects of everyday life.” – Judy M., 4th Grade Los Altos Parent
Camp Edmo is amazing! Our son’s first camp experience couldn’t have been any better! He has been singing the songs, enthusiastically telling us about the counselors, his new friends, the facts that he’s learned, and all the fun he’s having! He’s just simply happy…Seeing his enthusiasm brings me so much happiness! As a parent it’s the little things that really make big difference. I definitely felt the Edmo Vibe!” – Julie H., 1st Grade San Francisco Parent
My daughter literally flies out of bed and runs to camp! She just can’t wait to get her hands into all the crafts and projects. Please come to our school. We can set up for Edmo to teach our students!” – Bonnie T., 1st Grade Parent
I just attended the family day presentation and the sheer joy and energy conveyed by the staff from the Camp Director to all the CIT’s was infectious…From the very friendly team who greet my daughters every morning to all of the songs, and games introduced to them this week; the entire experience has been a very engaging one for my daughters.” – Art Y., 3rd Grade San Francisco Parent
My daughter was really excited to share with me what she did and learned at camp every day. She even said to me that I really like the science we learned at camp, much better than the science I did at kindergarten.” – Cupertino Parent

More What Parents Say About Our Animation Camp

Our son independently created an animated film for us. He drew a cartoon in stages and took pictures using the family’s mini ipad. Then created a short film with sound. He’s 7. We couldn’t believe it. He did this in about 15 minutes before dinner and was so focused. We were so impressed. We don’t know how to do that!” – Michelle R., 2nd Grade Palo Alto Parent

My daughter is always excited to have us watch the latest movie her group worked on. She’s having a fantastic time each week, and loves her counselors and CITs.” – Amy W., 3rd Grade Sunset Parent

Compared to other camps, the combination of structure and free play is a mix I really like about Edmo. He learns without really realizing that he’s learning – which helps keep the summer from being a pure loss of education.” – Amy P., 3rd Grade Los Altos Parent

My son sure is having a blast at Camp Edmo in the Sunset. He is dying to be in the Animators group. I told him he’d have to wait till next year for that. He proceeded to add up all of the days in all of the months till this time next year. Thank you Team Edmo for all that you do. He is inspired and full of great stories every night. We are so grateful to you.” – Carrie D., 1st Grade Sunset Parent

It’s hard to find a camp for the older kids that offers something interesting like animation. The boys were bored with normal camps and most camps require the children to be in 5th grade before they can do something cool like animation.” – Leslie S., 4th Grade Los Altos Parent

My daughter is in Animation for the first time and she is amazed by the how the animation movies are made. She explains in detail every part of the animation and can’t wait to get the final video. She shared that some of the movies are even on YouTube (which presumably is a big deal.” – Igor S., 3rd Grade Palo Alto Parent

Our son has been very excited about animation and the movie-making process. He’s told us all about terms like “Quiet on set!” and the process of stopmotion. It’s great to see him involved and energized about creating something fun. Randomly, several months later after last summer, he has chanted the EDMO song. “E-D-M-O, that’s the way we EDMO!” It’s quite a catchy tune.” – Michelle L., 3rd Grade Palo Alto Parent

Parent, My sons LOVE Camp Edmo and find it very engaging and enriching. I love that it adds an academic and artistic component that lots of camps don’t have – and in a very fun way. This year, with animation, camp was even more engaging and introduced the kids to a higher level of art and science than they had known. They’ve loved it and I’m thrilled at what they’ve learned.” – Michelle G., 3rd Grade San Francisco Parent

I was so impressed at how confident my son was at Animation after only a week of doing it! He was so proud the next week when the Instructor asked him to help some of the other groups with their movies. Thanks for building him up!” – Oakland parent

More What Parents Say About Our Park Program

Stevens Creek location has also been a great experience for my son. He is LOVING all the hikes and animals and comes home ready for bed! He does attend the after care as well. He has never felt so comfortable with a group of teachers/counselors. I’m a single mom and depend on day care…Please thank all the camp teachers for their passion for the kids and love of science and nature. I am an educator of adults and do not give praise easily. Their work is important, recognized, deeply appreciated and I believe changing lives and futures of many children.” – Cathryn A., 1st Grade Cupertino Park Parent

The hikes have been amazing — she brings home some new observation to the dinner table each night, whether it’s “I saw a deer” or (gulp) my counselor taught us how to recognize poison ivy! The Park program is absolutely terrific.” – Barbara C., 2nd Grade Cupertino Park Parent

Year in, year out Edmo has the nicest, most enthusiastic and engaged counselors of any camp we attend. They are all well informed and super helpful for us parents too. The programs are very engaging – especially for my nature loving kids.” – 4th Grade The Presidio Park Parent

Continuing education through the summer (has school year benefits). Other countries have 280 days of school a year and the US only has 180. The socio-economic gap is getting bigger and bigger. Programs like Edmo help minimize this gap.” – 1st Grade San Mateo Park Parent

Edmo is hands-down my camper’s favorite camp. She remembers what she learned from previous years, she loves the buddy, smile, plus, and other cards. She loves the games and she loves learning and art. Last March I asked her why it’s her favorite camp and she specifically mentioned the cards. Throughout the year she’ll mention or refer to something she learned at Edmo (e.g., anatomy of an ant, year 1).” – Mary G., 3rd Grade Oakland Parent

My children are at their grandparents this week, so it fit nicely to have them go to camp for a few hours a day to let the grandparents rest. The kids just loved being outdoors in a real park as most of the summer camps are at a school setting. What was particularly nice was the field trips for the 3rd grader. Thank you so much. We will be signing up for Edmo in the Park next summer!” – Victoria M., Kindergarten & 3rd Grade Cupertino Parent

My son is doing after care, and on Monday I picked him up at 5pm and he was bummed he couldn’t stay longer. On Tuesday I waited and got him at 5:25, and
he said ‘Ah man’ as soon as I walked up (sad that he couldn’t finish playing
football). It is now Wednesday, and I am hoping he’ll be ready to go by 5:45pm! Thanks for all the fun he is having.” – Jennie E., Kindergarten Parent

My son loves EDMO, the combination of learning specialized topics and outdoor activity has been great! We look forward to EDMO next year. The only comment would be more “in the park” camps (e.g., all summer)! PLEASE!!! – Laura P., Kindergarten San Mateo Parent

My daughter enjoyed her week in animation so much last year, that we came back this year and enrolled in a week of art and science, a week of animation, and now two weeks of Edmo in the Park. She loves the field trips with Edmo in the Park.” – Angela O., 3rd Grade Parent

We loved Camp Edmo in July, but I think our son has been particularly energized by being outside all day at Edmo in the Park. I love that the day ends with a hike around the lake! Beautiful setting.” – Oakland Parent

We wish Edmo at the Park was offered all summer… Our daughter (age 7) loved the field trips, the time outdoors, and the room to roam.” - Christine W.

You guys did a great job! My son was very excited and inspired by all he learned….All of you were very friendly and with lots of energy! An A++++ from our family! … I have never seen (my son) so excited by his learning as he was this year at Camp Edmo. Thank-you All!!!!” - Renee T., Noe/Twin Peaks Parent
