Currently Viewing: 2012 SF – Presidio Heights/Marina Summer Staff
Robert Atkinson – Camp Director
Robert Atkinson will be returning for his 4th summer at Presidio Heights/Marina and his 3rd year as Camp Director. Robert graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree in History in 2005 and immediately began working with special needs children in the classroom. In 2010, Robert completed his coursework at San Francisco State for his multiple-subject teaching credential. 2011 has seen Robert take two long-term substitute teaching positions: one teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts in Redwood City and the other as a 3rd grade teacher at New Traditions School in San Francisco. Robert is an avid musician and looks to foster creativity in every child he works with.
I am SO looking forward to getting back to Presidio Heights/Marina! It is such a wonderful opportunity to be able to work with such amazing people year in and year out. It continues to amaze me to see just how much a child’s curiosity and excitement for learning can grow over the course of a summer! This summer is going to ROCK!!”
Meghan Logan – Animation Instructor
Meghan Logan was born and raised in Tampa, FL. She knew she wanted to be an Animator ever since she was little. Meghan would not only watch cartoons all the time, but draw them everywhere too. She has always been really active and loves sports. Meghan is up for any challenges thrown at her. She graduated high school in 2010 and attended community college for one year, then decided to take on the big city and moved out to San Francisco last August. She attends Academy of Art University and is an Animation major.
I truly enjoy working with kids because of how much fun we have together. I don’t mind being wacky and silly andI really enjoy making people laugh. I am a professional at kickball and hide and seek. When I hide, you will never find me. I have plenty of games to bring to the camp that I think kids will remember for summers to come, and say “What about this game we learned at Camp Edmo..” I know the kids and I will have an excellent time this summer laughing, playing, and learning in a wonderful environment!”
Sandy Ono – Counselor
This summer is Sandy’s first at Camp Edmo as a counselor at Presidio Heights/Marina! Sandy just graduated from University of the Pacific with her B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and English, and will begin her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology in the fall at Northeastern in Boston. Sandy loves arts and crafts, and can’t wait to explore new adventures this summer with the campers!
I’m so excited for my first summer with Camp Edmo! What’s the best way to spend my summer? Hanging out with kids! I can’t wait to explore with campers each day!”
David Owens – Counselor
David Owens is a first year Camp Edmo Counselor! David just recently graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BA in Psychology along with a Film Minor in May 2012. He intends to utilize his higher education for helping those who need it most, by becoming a therapist/counselor for youth and adolescents. David was originally on track to becoming an elementary school teacher through the Dual Degree Teaching Program at USF, completing his CSET California Multiple Subject and Writing Skills examinations. He has experience as a Student Teacher Aid in a 2nd grade classroom at the San Francisco Friends School, as well as a host of other observational experiences in other local Bay Area elementary schools. David knows the importance of having a passion for learning, and also believes that it can be fun, creative, and exciting too!
I cannot wait to get to know all of the Summer Edmo campers! There is no other way that I would rather spend a summer then as a Camp Edmo Counselor at the Presidio Heights/Marina location! I firmly believe in being a lifelong learner, and I also think that improving the learning process to make it more fun and engaging is an incredible gift to give to others.”
