2012 Camp Edmo and Camp EdTech Staff
Come back in the Spring to meet all of our 2012 Summer Staff
Currently Viewing: 2012 SF – Sunset Summer Staff
Colin Ikeda – Camp Director
This summer will be Colin Ikeda’s first year at Camp Edmo as a Director at our Sunset site! Colin graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Economics before realizing his true calling as an educator. He received his Multi-Subject Teaching Credential at San Francisco State University in December 2010 and hopes to teach his own class one day soon. He has over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages through day camps and recreation centers. He works as a Computer Resource Teacher at Ulloa Elementary School. He is also the Ulloa Student Council Adviser and supervises grades K – 3 during their lunch time. Colin is also a wrestling coach at Lowell High School and has a love for fitness. His other interests include cooking, dancing, hiking, singing, and watching the Giants play baseball. Last summer he worked as a counselor at the Camp Edmo – Sunset location.
I am extremely happy to return to our Sunset site and continue to create lifelong memories of exploration, creativity, recreation and teamwork! I am grateful for the opportunity to flex my director muscles and hope to inspire campers and parents alike to catch the Edmo Vibe. How will YOU Edmo this summer? Come to the Sunset and show us what you got!! E-D-M-O, what’s better than camp, I just don’t know!”
Lisa Hipp – Counselor
Summer 2012 will be Lisa Hipp’s second summer as a counselor for Camp Edmo in the Sunset. Currently, Lisa attends Fordham University where she is a student-athlete. She plays Division I volleyball for the Rams while majoring in General Science and exploring different options for a double major. After years of babysitting and coaching and being a part of Edmo last summer, Lisa has realized she wants to pursue a career in teaching and education. Lisa spent most of her school year volunteering with Jumpstart, helping preschoolers build their language and literacy skills. In her free time, Lisa loves to read, bake, play all kinds of sports and games, sing, dance, and tell stories!
I am thrilled to come back for another amazing summer at Camp Edmo! Seeing how much the campers, and even the staff, grew and learned last summer excites me to see what we will do this summer! I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with a great staff and wonderful children. Who’s got that Edmo vibe? I know I’ve got it! Do you?”
Frances Cuevas – Art & Science Instructor
Frances can hardly contain her excitement about being an Art & Sciences Instructor at Camp Edmo. Her passion for inspiring and motivating young minds has propelled her experience with children over 10 years, from volunteering in college, to tutoring for after-school programs, to teaching youth dance classes and even performing at kids’ birthdays! Frances graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Biology and knows just how much science rocks. She eagerly waits to bring her enthusiasm for learning and zest for imagination into creating an amazing summer
It’s incredible enough there exists a camp as dedicated and ground-breaking as Camp Edmo, let alone have the opportunity to play a big role for its campers this summer. I am so thrilled to meet all the happy campers at Camp Edmo’s Sunset location and show them the wonders of art and science. Summer camp is a magical place to be and I look forward to creating lasting memories of laughter, learning, and innovation. There is nothing more rewarding than watching young leaders discover their talents and reach their greatest potential. Not to mention have fun and make new friends! This is going to be an awesome summer!”
Joseph Crockett – Animation Instructor
Joseph is joining Edventure More as an Animation Instructor for the first time, bringing enthusiasm and experience to spark his campers’ imaginations. Since graduating with a BA in film/animation, Joseph has worked on feature films, educational documentaries and short animations. He has tutored students in best filmmaking practices and taught workshops to children and grownups alike on a range of creative software packages. When not animating, Joseph enjoys inventing and solving word games and puzzles.
This summer’s going to be great! I can’t wait to see what our talented campers create when given the tools and freedom to realize their vision. Animation rocks because you can truly make whatever you want–if you can imagine it, you can animate it. Plus, who doesn’t love cartoons?”
